Zinnie Pham Nilsson

Product/UX designer in Gothenburg, Sweden

Born in Vietnam, living in Sweden. Sensitive by nature, which turned out to be my superpower: I feel the unspoken needs of the people I design for.

I want my work to be a digital “warm embrace”, a place of safety and trust for real people seeking a moment of ease.

My story

  1. (i)

    Born in Vietnam

Collectivity is deeply woven into our culture. Growing up I was taught to observe the needs of others before my own.

As a sensitive, introverted child I felt the world’s subtle shifts. That sensitivity became my superpower as a designer, letting me empathize with users’ unspoken pains and aspirations.

  2. (ii)

    A family blueprint

My father, an engineer, gave me a love for structured logic. My mother, working in pharma with complex stakeholders, taught me the pragmatism of business. My brother, a graphic designer, inspired my visual soul.

I am the synthesis of them all: a designer at the intersection of aesthetic beauty, strategic business goals and human-centric solutions.

  3. (iii)

    Not only bright pixels

Being a mother of two has taught me infinite patience and the art of observing non-verbal cues.

Having navigated post-partum depression, loss and burnout, I’ve emerged with a deep commitment to psychology and mental wellness. When I design, I see real people seeking a moment of ease.

  4. (iv)

    The world of craft

Away from the screen I find stillness in nature, mindfulness and craft: styling food, baking bread, capturing light, shaping clay.

To me, product design is like hand-crafting a ceramic bowl: beautiful to behold, but above all purposeful and comfortable in the hands of the user.

My design philosophy

(East Asian roots, Scandinavian life)

  1. (01)

    The flow of energy

Inspired by Feng Shui, I view an interface as a living environment: white space as breathable room, hierarchy as the path for attention.

  2. (02)

    The spirit of Lagom

Not too much, not too little, just right. Functional minimalism focused on the essential features that drive real value.

  3. (03)

    Organic aesthetics & trust

Earthy Eastern craftsmanship meets the structural honesty of Nordic architecture, for experiences that feel human and trustworthy.

  4. (04)

    Strategic harmony

A product is a bridge between human desires and organizational objectives: the user’s journey should lead to the product’s success.
